Pet Euthanasia Services in Polk City, IA

We understand that saying goodbye is one of the hardest choices a pet owner can make, and here at All Seasons Veterinary Care, we are committed to making this process as gentle and supportive as possible. We offer a variety of after-care options tailored to meet your needs, including private cremation with the return of ashes, communal cremation without the return of ashes, or the option to take your pet home with you if that feels right. Additionally, we provide a Clay Paw Print or Ink Nose Print as a keepsake for you after you’ve departed.

To help ease this devastating time, we have created a separate bereavement room where you can spend as much time as you need with your pet before or after the euthanasia. There’s no rush; our goal is to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported. For your convenience, we handle payment prior to the procedure so that when everything is done, you can exit through our side entrance without having to navigate through the reception area.

Our bereavement room is equipped with comfortable furniture and resources to help guide you through this heartbreaking time. It also features a special doorbell for alerting our staff when you’re ready to proceed. You can choose to either stay with your pet during the euthanasia or leave, it is a very personal choice to you and we will support you. If you do not wish to stay with your pet during the euthanasia, be assured they will not be alone, and our staff will be there with your pet to help in their final moments.

For cremation services, we partner with Trusted Journey—a local business dedicated solely to pet cremation and burial services since 1983. They will handle the pick-up of your pet following euthanasia and will return them if you’ve chosen private cremation. Once they’re back with us, we’ll notify you promptly.

Trusted Journey also offers an array of memorial products should you wish to explore those options. If you’re interested in viewing their full catalog online, please visit: [Trusted Journey Memorial Products](https://www.trustedjourney.com/memorial-products/).

Please remember that we’re here for you during this challenging time. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need additional support, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Understanding the Euthanasia Process

When you arrive, we will take you, your pet, and any family members to our bereavement room. A compassionate staff member will be there to ask if you’ve gone through the euthanasia process before and will be ready to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Once you feel prepared to move forward, you’ll be asked to sign a euthanasia consent form and select your preferred aftercare option for your pet. To make things easier for you, we collect payment beforehand so that when you’re ready to leave, you can exit through our private entrance without having to go through the reception area.

When the technician comes into the room, they will gently take your pet back for a catheter placement before bringing them back to you. If at any point you’d prefer not to be present during this part of the process, that’s completely okay; you’re welcome to step out whenever you’d like. We want this experience to be as comfortable as possible for you. If you choose to remain present, the doctor will come in shortly after and ensure that all your questions are answered before proceeding.

The process begins with an injection of a sedation solution that makes your pet sleepier and more relaxed. Once they are calm, we will administer the euthanasia solution which peacefully stops their heart. This typically occurs quickly and painlessly.

Afterward, you’re welcome to stay as long as needed. When you’re ready to leave—and assuming payment has already been collected—you can use our side door for a private exit from the building. If you’ve chosen private cremation for your pet, we will reach out as soon as their ashes are returned.

Please know that we are here for you every step of the way during this emotional journey. If you have any further questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out.
